The diving industry is asking an important question: why do people stop diving, or never start at all?
A new global project, the Future Divers Initiative – Survey on Interest in Scuba Diving, aims to find real answers by gathering honest feedback from divers, former divers, and anyone curious about the sport.
Responses are confidential and untrackable, encouraging open and genuine input.
Why It Matters
For years, much of the industry has relied on assumptions about cost, access, and training barriers. This survey is designed to move beyond guesswork and identify:
- Why divers become inactive
- What prevents new people from getting started
- How diving is perceived by different audiences
The results will be shared with the industry and presented at Diving Talks 2026, helping shape future decisions based on real data.
It only takes a few minutes, but your input could help influence the future of scuba diving.
