Sea to Sky

Jill Heinerth, Explorer in Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, will speak about her experience as an underwater explorer and how this has driven her towards water literacy and conservation efforts. More people have walked on the moon than they have been to the places on earth that Jill has explored. Jill has led expeditions into Antarctic icebergs, volcanic lava tubes and underwater caves around the world by technical rebreather diving as the first Explorer-in-Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

The Wall Street Journal, Oprah Magazine, and the New York Times praised Jill’s book “Into the Planet.” She is a fellow from the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences, Women Divers Hall of Fame, National Speleological Society, and the Explorers Club, awarding her the William Beebe Award.
