Nauticam has officially announced the NA-A7V, a dedicated underwater housing for the Sony a7 V, expanding its high-end mirrorless lineup with a system designed for serious underwater photographers and videographers.
Built from precision-machined aluminum and rated to 100 metres, the NA-A7V follows Nauticam’s established design philosophy, prioritising ergonomic control placement, durability, and full access to camera functions. According to Nauticam, the housing is engineered to make complex shooting tasks intuitive underwater, allowing photographers to concentrate on composition rather than control compromises.
The housing uses Nauticam’s N100 port system, giving users access to a wide range of ports and extensions, including support for the company’s water-contact optics. This ensures compatibility with ultra-wide rectilinear lenses, fisheyes, and macro setups, making the NA-A7V suitable for everything from reef scenics to detailed close-focus work.
As standard, the NA-A7V integrates vacuum check and leak detection electronics, providing pre-dive system integrity checks and in-dive monitoring for added peace of mind. Strobe connectivity options include both optical and electrical triggering, allowing photographers to configure lighting systems to suit their existing setups.
Nauticam lists the housing with an in-water balanced design, robust sealing, and support for accessories such as external monitors, HDMI bulkheads, and focus and zoom gear options. The NA-A7V slots neatly into Nauticam’s broader Sony mirrorless ecosystem, making it a logical upgrade path for photographers already invested in the brand’s ports and accessories.
