The Long Beach Fire Department responded to a distress call just after 10 a.m. regarding a small vessel located approximately three miles beyond the breakwater. Upon arrival, firefighter-paramedics boarded the dive boat and initiated CPR on the individual in distress.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts at sea, the man was pronounced dead on board before the vessel reached the dock, authorities confirmed. His identity has not yet been released, and the exact cause of death remains under investigation.
