After making waves in 2022 with the Teric Journeys Edition, Shearwater Research has returned with a bold new statement piece for the diving community. The Canadian dive technology innovator has officially launched the Perdix 2 Journeys Edition, an eye-catching evolution of its flagship dive computer — this time featuring a bronze-coloured titanium bezel inspired by vintage diving gear.
Unveiled this week at the TDEX Dive Show in Bangkok, Thailand, the Perdix 2 Journeys Edition merges Shearwater’s cutting-edge functionality with a nod to diving’s rich history. The design pays tribute to classic diving helmets and tools, while delivering the same performance divers have come to expect from the Perdix 2 platform — including support for technical, recreational, and freediving profiles, a robust titanium build, and Shearwater’s trusted user interface.
Josh Horoshok, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Shearwater, explains the thinking behind the latest edition:
“We know that divers value choice when it comes to colours and finishes. After the success of the Teric Journeys Edition, it made perfect sense to bring the bronze titanium bezel to our highly popular flagship model, the Perdix 2.”
The product arrives wrapped in a custom-designed sleeve that evokes a spirit of adventure, reinforced by a new global marketing campaign celebrating legendary dive sites such as Egypt’s Red Sea, Malta, Iceland’s Silfra Fissure, and the cenotes of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. These destinations were carefully selected for their connection to exploration, challenge, and natural beauty — the very themes the Journeys Edition series seeks to represent.
Shipping begins May 20th, with North American divers getting their first look at the Perdix 2 Journeys Edition at the upcoming Scuba Show in Long Beach, California (May 31 – June 1). The launch is expected to attract strong attention from technical divers and collectors alike.
“This is an homage to the original Teric Journeys Edition,” said Horoshok, “but more importantly, it offers a new option for our technical diving community. The campaign celebrates iconic dive sites — ideal environments for divers to test their skills and connect with the adventurous spirit of the sport.”
Shearwater’s announcement also includes plans for two upcoming 2027 expeditions to Truk Lagoon (Chuuk) in collaboration with Dirty Dozen Expeditions. As a featured guest aboard the M/V Odyssey, Shearwater will join divers exploring the storied wrecks of this world-renowned site — a fitting continuation of its mission to support unforgettable diving experiences.
