Search-and-rescue efforts are underway in Palau after a Singaporean went missing following a diving incident in the Pacific island nation.
The incident occurred on Monday, 7 September 2026, according to information confirmed by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a response to Singapore media on 9 September, the ministry confirmed that it was aware of the incident and was providing consular assistance to the missing person’s family.
The ministry also said it was in contact with authorities in Palau regarding the ongoing search-and-rescue operation and would continue to monitor the situation closely.
The incident has been independently reported by several Singapore news organisations, including The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, both of which received confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
