Italian underwater housing manufacturer Isotta has announced a new aluminium housing for the recently released OM System OM-5 Mark II, giving underwater photographers another premium option for taking the popular Micro Four Thirds camera beneath the surface.
Designed and manufactured in Italy, the housing is depth-rated to 100 metres (328 feet) and is aimed at photographers looking for a compact but highly capable imaging system for recreational and professional diving.
The new housing continues Isotta’s distinctive design philosophy, combining marine-grade anodised aluminium construction with large, ergonomically positioned controls that can be comfortably operated while wearing dive gloves.
Built for Underwater Photography
The housing provides full access to all of the camera’s primary controls and is compatible with Isotta’s interchangeable port system, allowing photographers to configure the housing for a wide range of lenses.
Other key features include:
- 100-metre depth rating
- Hard-anodised aluminium construction
- Double O-ring seals on key openings
- Integrated fibre-optic connections for external strobes
- Optional vacuum monitoring system for leak detection
- Ergonomic control placement for easier operation underwater
- Multiple mounting points for accessories such as video lights and focus lights
The housing is designed to work seamlessly with the OM System OM-5 Mark II’s compact form factor, making it attractive for travelling divers who want professional image quality without the bulk of a full-frame camera system.
Continuing Support for the OM System Platform
The release reflects continued manufacturer confidence in the OM System Micro Four Thirds ecosystem, which remains popular among underwater photographers thanks to its combination of compact size, excellent image quality and extensive lens selection.
The OM-5 Mark II builds on the success of the original OM-5, offering incremental improvements while retaining features that appeal to underwater shooters, including in-body image stabilisation, weather sealing and a lightweight design.
For many divers, the camera strikes a balance between portability and performance, making it particularly well suited to travel, liveaboard expeditions and adventure diving.
More Choice for Underwater Shooters
The launch also gives photographers another premium housing option alongside products from other leading underwater imaging manufacturers. Increased competition benefits divers by providing more choice across different budgets and shooting styles while continuing to drive innovation in underwater camera equipment.
