A diving cylinder explosion at Ploče Beach, in Montenegro’s Kotor municipality, left two minors injured on Sunday. According to a report in Vijesti, a 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when flying debris struck him on the wrist, despite being more than 50 meters away from the blast site.
The incident occurred at a counter where divers had placed their equipment. Emergency services responded quickly, and the injured teenager was initially treated at the Clinical Hospital Center in Kotor before being transferred to the Risan Hospital for further care.
Authorities confirmed that the minors involved are tourists with Montenegrin origins. A second boy, from Serbia, sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the Emergency Medical Service in Budva.
Police and other relevant services remain at the scene, working to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to establish whether further action is required within their jurisdiction.
