Lavinia Currier is a writer, filmmaker, and conservationist living on the island of Molokai. She met Paul Watson while in college, and inspired by his determination to stop commercial whaling, has been aboard Sea Shepherd vessels on campaigns to protect marine animals. She recently directed Deep Trouble, a short film with Sylvia Earle and Yo-Yo Ma about the dangers of deep sea mining.
