DIVETALKS THURSDAYS: Get to Know Marine Biologist and Mediterranean Dive Expert, Beatrice Rivoira

This week’s special guest on the popular Facebook Livestream DIVETALKS, orchestrated by Divesoft, is the Italian marine biologist and diving instructor, Beatrice Rivoira. Be sure to tune in this Thursday, July 16th at 1 p.m. EDT, for the opportunity to hear about her latest projects, preferred gear, and diving ambitions for the coming year.

Beatrice Rivoira

Beatrice’s interest in diving was inspired by her father and brother who were both heavily involved in the sport. That interest drove her to achieve her master’s degree in marine biology and oceanography. Her love for diving then led her to become an OC & CCR Tech instructor. Rivoira’s passion for the water has taken her all over the world and she’s happy to use her experience to better the education of other divers.

One way that Beatrice helps people within the diving world is by teaching and inspiring via environmental education projects. She is currently working with ZeroEmissions, which provides a whole range of courses for OC recreational, OC technical and CCR (from OW to Hypoxic and up to Instructor – on both OC and CCR). Beatrice personally teaches up to Decompression on OC and Helitrox on CCR. She is an experienced instructor and has a way of helping her students view diving with a refreshed, environmentally-friendly state of mind.

Another way in which divers, specifically Italian divers, have benefited from Beatrice’s work is through her translations. She has translated various diving texts in Italian with the hopes of spreading new findings throughout her country. You might also know her for the role she played in co-authoring Biodiving, an educational book on the biology of the Mediterranean Sea.

You’re not going to want to miss this week’s DIVETALKS livestream. Beatrice has done wonders for Italian-speaking divers and is one of the most qualified persons to speak on topics regarding the Mediterranean. Mark your calendars and tune in this Thursday, July 16th at 1 p.m. EDT preparing any questions you might have for her beforehand. You can ask her besides other things about her interest in scientific illustrations, or her work on a private yacht, or her current cooperation with Phil Short and Gareth Lock. Follow the link HERE on Thursday, and learn something new from Beatrice Rivoira!
