Diving Talks will return to Lisbon from 23 to 25 October 2026, bringing together members of the international diving community for three days of presentations, workshops, exhibitions and informal discussions.
The annual event, which has been held in Lisbon since 2021, combines a conference and trade show and is designed to bring different parts of the diving community together in one setting.
According to the event organisers, the programme will feature explorers, scientists, underwater photographers, technical divers, freedivers, researchers, educators and industry leaders, with presentations covering subjects ranging from expeditions and underwater discoveries to diving safety, human performance, technology, conservation and the future of diving.
The organisers describe Diving Talks as more than a traditional dive show, with an emphasis on opportunities for attendees to meet speakers, exchange experiences and continue conversations beyond the formal presentations.
Workshops and additional presentations will complement the main stage programme, while the exhibition area will provide an opportunity for divers to meet manufacturers and organisations and discuss equipment, technology and developments within the industry.
Focus on industry connections
A significant part of the event’s positioning is its emphasis on direct interaction between diving brands and the people who use their products and services.
The organisers say participating companies have the opportunity to engage directly with experienced divers, instructors, explorers and other members of the diving community, rather than simply exhibiting products.
The event’s organisers argue that this type of interaction can help manufacturers better understand how equipment is being used in real-world diving and identify emerging needs and technologies.
For visitors, the format is intended to provide opportunities to continue discussions outside the formal programme, including at workshops, exhibition stands and informal gatherings.
“Rather than simply exhibiting products, participating brands become part of the wider conversation,” the organisers say in the announcement.
Bringing the diving community together
The 2026 event is being presented around the theme of “Where Adventure Meets Knowledge”, reflecting the organisers’ emphasis on combining diving experiences with education and discussion.
The supplied event images illustrate that approach, with photographs showing audiences gathered for presentations, divers speaking with exhibitors and attendees interacting during the event. The page 5 image, in particular, shows a large audience gathered in Lisbon, reinforcing the event’s community-focused positioning.
