For years, one of the biggest frustrations for travelling divers has been the surprise costs that appear after booking. Marine park fees, fuel surcharges, port fees, and various mandatory extras can quickly inflate the advertised price of a dive trip, often leaving guests feeling misled before they even enter the water.
Now, Emperor Divers is taking a firm stance against that practice by extending its popular “No Hidden Extras” pricing policy to all of its Egypt dive centres, bringing the same transparent approach already used across its liveaboard fleet.
The move means divers booking day diving experiences in destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam will now see all mandatory costs included in the upfront advertised price. According to the company, this includes marine park fees, port fees, and fuel surcharges that are often charged separately elsewhere in the industry.
For travelling divers planning a Red Sea trip, it removes a common point of uncertainty from the booking process. Instead of calculating additional fees after arrival, guests know exactly what they are paying before they commit.
Alexander Bryant, CEO of Emperor Divers, said the expansion was a natural next step following the positive reception the policy has already received from liveaboard guests.
“No Hidden Extras has long been at the heart of our liveaboards, and the response from divers has been incredibly positive. It was only a matter of time before we brought the same approach to our daily diving, so when you dive with Emperor, you know exactly what you’re paying for.”
Bryant also acknowledged the confusion many divers experience when mandatory charges are presented in different ways across the industry.
“We often see compulsory charges presented in different ways, daily fees, marine park fees, fuel surcharges or other dubious onboard extras, sometimes clear, sometimes less so. Our approach is simple: if it’s mandatory, it’s included. The price you see is the price you pay.”
The policy is now active across the company’s entire Egypt operation, including both its liveaboards and dive centres. Emperor says the decision was driven directly by customer feedback and reflects its ongoing focus on transparency, customer service, and reducing friction in the travel experience.
The announcement is likely to resonate strongly with divers planning Red Sea holidays, particularly as many travellers become increasingly sensitive to unexpected travel costs. Egypt remains one of the world’s most popular dive destinations thanks to its warm waters, reliable visibility, dramatic reefs, and marine life encounters ranging from turtles and dugongs to oceanic whitetips and hammerheads.
Founded in 1992, Emperor Divers operates liveaboards and dive centres across the Red Sea, Maldives, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands, building a reputation around safety, sustainability, and high-quality dive operations.
