Motivation, a topic that is both so personal and so public, always carries the risk of displeasing someone when discussed.
It’s true that each of us is free to be motivated by what we prefer, and what motivates one person might not motivate another. However, to suggest that our current situation, perhaps problematic or simply not fully satisfying, is also or primarily due to a lack of motivation, or an unsuitable one, is hardly accepted by most of us.
Yet, there are cases when discussing motivation would help, and others where it’s absolutely necessary, because it determines the solution we adopt, and even the decision of whether or not to adopt any solution at all.
When it comes to achieving results, experts worldwide, in every sector, from the most recreational and perhaps even trivial, to the most professional and perhaps complex, make motivation a central focus.
