Countries Opening to Divers

Most countries in the Pacific and Asia regions continue to remain closed to dive tourism for 2021 due to the pandemic, but a number of countries in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America are opening to divers. These countries have made it easier to enter and their close proximity means good air service.

Check with your dive shop or dive travel specialist about current requirements of a country you’d like to visit. The requirements as of this week: Bahamas and Belize (No PCR test for entry if fully vaccinated at least 14 days); Costa Rica and Mexico (No PCR needed for entry); Galapagos Islands (No PCR test for Vaccinated Travelers to Ecuador, Rapid Test before Galapagos Entry); St. Croix, US Virgin Islands (No PCR needed for return). Also said to be open but not yet confirmed are Curacao, Honduras (Roatan, Guanaja and Roatan Aggressor and Guanaja), St. Lucia, Saba/St. Maarten, St. Kitts, and Turks & Caicos. Bonaire and the Cayman Islands are expected to open in the second half of 2021.
