Today’s featured diver Brett Hoelzer is the other half of previous featured diver, Catherine Anne Hoelzer. Currently living in Jordan, Brett loves to photograph the underwater world, wherever in the world he is.

When and where did you start diving?  

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Why did you start diving?  

Loved snorkeling and my friend who is a diver encouraged me to try.

What made you choose to become a dive professional?

To be qualified to help other divers.

Which is your favourite dive site and why? Lembeh Strait, it is a photographers dream destination.

My last birthday I was given a day trip by our local dive center and I got to dive with a Whale Shark

If you would come back as a marine life form in your next life, what would that be?

I would come back as a octopus they are so unique.

Who is your dream dive buddy?

My wife is my dream buddy in life and diving.

What dive locations are on your dream “bucket list” and why?

Raja Ampat it has the richest reefs.

What is on your bedside table right now?

My dive computer.

What is your favourite piece of diving equipment and why?

My ScubaPro 5mm suit, because it keeps me warm.

If you were to launch a campaign to raise awareness on a specific issue that affects divers, the oceans or marine life, what issue would you target and why?

It would be to launch awareness both here and globally of the importance of protecting out oceans.

Where will you be in 10 years and what will you be doing?

Diving with my camera capturing photos.
