Since 1997 Ripley’s Aquariums have thrilled millions of visitors in North America.
Traveling on moving glide paths, visitors enter the ocean realm and come face to face with thousands of fascinating fishes and menacing sea creatures, everything from barracudas, to rays, to jellyfish, octopi, moray eels and giant sharks!
The Aquarium is open 365 days a year and while our hours are normally from 9am to 11pm daily, we do close early some evenings for private events. Check the calendar on our website before swimming by.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada continuously strives to make a difference in the lives of aquatic animals across the globe, which is why we have forged partnerships with trusted, committed, and effective charitable organizations.
The Shark Research Institute is a non-profit scientific research organization that was created to sponsor and conduct research on sharks in the ultimate effort to promote their conservation. The Shark Research Institute works diligently to correct misperceptions about sharks and to stop the needless slaughter of over 150 million sharks annually. As the home to numerous shark species, this is a cause that Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada feels extremely passionate about. We frequently donate 100% of the proceeds from our Souvenir Guidebook sales to this inspiring organization.
We are also proud to support the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre, a local charity whose goal is to protect and conserve Ontario’s native turtles and the habitat in which they live. They operate a turtle hospital that rehabilitates injured turtles and perform extensive research in the field to further conservation initiatives. Our two resident green sea turtles – Spot and Chewy – are now classified as an endangered species, so this charity is naturally very close to our hearts. We frequently donate 100% of the proceeds from our Souvenir Guidebook sales to this inspiring organization, as well as 10% from our Discovery Dive Program.
