Dive Scapa Flow was established over 20 years ago in Scapa Flow and is currently for sale or rent due to ill health of the current owners.
About The Business
We have a spacious 20m steel day boat, fully equipped with 2 onboard compressors, hydraulic ram divers lift & coded for 12 divers. Our onshore accommodation consists of 2 adjoining houses in central Stromness which are self-contained with all facilities. Someone comes in to cook a hot breakfast & clean up each morning before diving. Divers stay for 7 nights with 6 days diving, starting on Sunday’s, Saturday’s being change over days. We also have a minibus for airport/ferry transfers which our divers can also use.
Our season is usually around 26 weeks (only lose 1-2 days over the whole season due to bad weather) & mostly booked over a year in advance.(We used to do over 30 weeks). We use the other 6 months to travel!
There is also a brand new retail unit at the Pierhead on a 10 year rolling lease from the council.
We currently stock all the major diving brands, our own designs printed & embroidered on clothing (in house) & souvenirs, catering for both divers & a rapidly growing tourist market.
It’s an incredible opportunity for someone to run this lucrative business as it is, or to develop further by extending the season/teaching/ try a dive / becoming a PADI centre etc. as we aren’t affiliated to anyone.
The retail unit could be easily separated from the rest of the business if not required.

When we started we did all this ourselves, so would probably be ideal for a couple.
