Step into a wild and surreal world of a scuba instructor working in the Caribbean. I’ve been teaching diving for almost twenty years and spent seven of them working in the Islands. Everyday was a vacation with countless adventures and experiences that border lined fiction. A lifestyle filled with perpetual sun, endless partying, bizarre tourists, beautiful sun tanned girls and thousands of dives. It’s a story of escape, of running into the unknown and leaving the world behind.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I grew up with a strong love for the ocean and all the life found in it.I have over 4,000 dives, give or take. I have certified divers from all over the world. I Started teaching diving in a small dive shop in Irvine CA. called Liburdi’s Scuba Center in 1993. From there I left the rat race and moved to the United States Virgin Islands and worked on St. Thomas and St. Croix to teach scuba. During that time in the VI, I also taught on two cruise ships for a few months. After two nasty hurricanes I jumped on a plane to Aruba where I worked for Pelican Watersports until late 2000.

I married one of my students towards the end of my island hopping hiatus. I now live far from the ocean in Duluth, Minnesota with my wife Lori and two daughters Miraeya and Maddie. We get back to the ocean when we can and I still teach diving when I want to.
