On Saturday, 21 July, PADI® Dive Centers, Resorts and Professional Members hosted more than 1,000 events in 104 countries across the globe for the fourth annual PADI Women’s Dive Day. Dive community will rally together to break Guinness World Record in Deerfield Beach, Florida, on June 16 WHAT Divers from across the state of Florida and around the world are coming together in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest human chain underwater. Artificial Reefs International – U.S.S. Clamagore (ARI) and lifestyle brand Salt Life announced PADI’s (Professional Association of Diving Instructors®) support of the U.S.S. Clamagore Artificial Reef Project. A Cold War-era submarine, the U.S.S. Clamagore will be relocated from Patriots Point in Charleston, South Carolina, and converted to an artificial reef off the coast of Palm Beach County, Florida. The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), the world’s largest recreational diver training organization, has joined the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI), the first global alliance working to solve the worldwide problem of lost and abandoned fishing gear, known as ghost gear. Founded by World Animal Protection in 2015, the GGGI works to reduce the volume of ghost gear, remove and recycle such gear, and rescue entangled animals. This month, to celebrate the Professional Association of Diving Instructor’s (PADI) 25 millionth diving certification, Sarah Gleeson and a buddy of her choosing were invited on a dream trip to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and saw first-hand the state of the Reef. “I had seen reports of the Great Barrier Reef having been pronounced dead late last year however that was not my experience.
