The Chamber of Diving and Watersports (CDWS) has issued an official statement confirming that all passengers and crew members aboard the safari yacht M/Y Seaphoria are safe following an incident off the coast of Marsa Alam on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
According to the Department of Diving Tourism and Maritime Activities, the liveaboard ran aground on the Abu Kizan coral reefs, a popular diving area near Abu al-Kizan Island. All guests and crew were safely transferred to the nearby Turquoise safari yacht, where they received the necessary care and support before being accommodated in local hotels pending the completion of official procedures.
Upon receiving the report, the CDWS immediately notified relevant authorities and coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved. The Chamber confirmed that full assistance continues to be provided while investigations into the grounding are underway.
The Department of Diving Tourism and Marine Activities stated that it will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the ongoing safety of divers and operators in the region.
