A 56-year-old Utah man has died following a scuba diving incident at Bear Lake, according to information released by the Rich County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders were called to Cisco Beach on Saturday after reports of a diver in distress. The diver was recovered from the water and airlifted for medical treatment. Despite rescue efforts, he later died.
The Rich County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as a resident of West Valley City, Utah. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the circumstances that led to the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
At the time of writing, officials have not disclosed whether the incident was related to a medical emergency, environmental conditions, equipment issues, or other factors. No additional details about the dive profile or conditions have been released.
