A 68-year-old diver from Poland was airlifted to hospital after a serious diving incident at Lake Attersee near Weyregg in Upper Austria. According to regional outlet Tips.at, the diver completed a normal dive with his buddy on Tuesday afternoon before suddenly suffering health problems shortly after surfacing.
Emergency services were called immediately, and the medical helicopter Martin 3 transported the man to the University Hospital in Graz for specialist treatment. The local police confirmed the sequence of events but said the cause of the medical emergency remains unclear.

Attersee is one of Austria’s most popular freshwater dive locations, known for its cold, clear depths and steep underwater terrain. While the lake attracts divers year-round, its conditions demand strict adherence to dive planning and ascent protocols.
