The celebrated naturalist focuses on both the defining moments of his career and the devastating changes he has witnessed in this special feature documentary, titled David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet. The film, coming to Netflix in October 2020, tackles some of the biggest problems facing life on our planet, offering a snapshot of the loss of global nature in a single lifetime. A clear message of hope for future generations comes with it, as Attenborough reveals the ideas to help save the future.

Sir David Frederick Attenborough born 8 May 1926 is an English broadcaster and natural historian. He is best known for writing and presenting the nine natural history documentary series comprising the Life set, which together constitutes a detailed survey of animal and plant life on Earth, in collaboration with the BBC Natural History Unit.

He is a former senior manager at the BBC, having worked in the 1960s and 1970s as controller of BBC Two and director of BBC Television programming. He is the only person who has won BAFTAs for black and white, colour, HD, 3D and 4K programs. He received Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Narrator in 2018 and 2019. He considers David Attenborough: A Life On Our World, his 2020 documentary film, his personal witness declaration of his life and the future.

Attenborough, is known in the UK as a “national treasure” although he does not like that phrase. In 2002, following a UK-wide survey for the BBC, he was listed among the 100 Greatest Britons.
