We start our fully guided group tour in Bali, in a beautiful sea side resort where we spend a comfortable evening recovering from the travel before heading off on our diving adventure. From here we make our way to the little known island of Alor, where we have exclusive use of Alami Alor Resort. With a capacity of 12 divers in total, this resort offers an opportunity to enjoy the reefs without bumping into other divers. The resort is completely secluded, and offers luxurious seafront bungalows, a comfy lounge and dining area,  and a very well equipped dive centre.

The diving here is world class, with beautiful underwater topography, and fantastic chances to see pelagics like sharks, mola-mola and schooling trevally. The reefs here are almost virgin; locals use sustainable fishing practices for subsistence purposes.

What makes this trip even more exciting is that we have planned it around the full moon, a time when schooling hammerheads often congregate at one of the side sites.

The muck diving in this area is top notch, with several black volcanic rocky slopes to explore. It is not uncommon to encounter several species of frog fish, nudibranch, octopus and shrimp on any given dive. These dives will have you running for the fish ID books to try and determine what the weird and wonderful critter you spotted could be.

After 7 nights and several dives around Alor, we make our way to Komodo National Marine Park, to a private island called Sebayur, and a magnificent resort set on the beach and surrounded by bougainvillea bushes and crystal clear calm waters.

Here we will enjoy 6 nights and many dives in the surrounding waters. The diving here takes us to magnificent fringing reefs, great pinnacles and deep walls. While the water abounds with critters, it’s the sheer number of reef fish and pelagics that makes Komodo diving famous. With great opportunities to see manta rays, sharks, turtles, schooling jacks, bumphead parrotfish to name but a few, Komodo certainly does not disappoint. We finish the trip off-gassing while wandering around the arid islands in search of the 2m long Komodo dragon.

This fabulous fully guided 14 night trip includes full board, 26 dives with tanks, weights and guide, excursion to see the dragons, internal flights and transfers costs £3100 per person based on twin/double share.. ATOL protected flights can be arranged on request. We have three dates this year: 22 April-6 May, 20 May-3 June and 14-28 October.
