Whether you are a pro or an amateur, if you love underwater photography, this is a perfect time to mingle with two of the best in the business – Marty Snyderman and Cayman’s own Cathy Church, owner of Cathy Church’s Photo Centre, who will also participate. Dive Training Magazine is also a sponsor of the week’s events. To make a night of it, Sunset House offers a daily Happy Hour that runs from 6:00-8:00 so you can party with a purpose. Drawings will be held to give away a series of autographed prints of Marty Snyderman’s marine wildlife photos. The proceeds will be donated to the Cayman Magic Reef Recovery effort.

From My Bar, Rick Voight will host a virtual community of divers as they share the Cayman experience on Facebook at www.facebook.com/vivid-pix-fix. He and Snyderman invite all local divers and friends to come out, share a drink, and see what is happening in underwater photography.

“Divers are a world-wide community, and more and more people are getting involved in underwater photography because of how easy it has become,” states Voight. “We’re here to be a part of this community, to have fun sharing these pictures and to help worthwhile causes like the Cayman Magic Reef Recovery.”

Snyderman and Voight will arrive with hammers in hand to create the Marty Snyderman Signature Room at Sunset House.  Sunset House General Manager Keith Sahm says it will be a celebratory week with a serious message.  “The idea behind our signature room campaign is to promote the beauty of the ocean as seen through the eyes of professional and passionate underwater photographers to encourage those who see the photos to act to save this fragile marine environment.”

The informal photo sessions will be taking place on several evenings throughout the week from 6 – 8 pm at My Bar.
