PADI and British diving equipment manufacturer Fourth Element have launched BLACKCARD, a new limited-edition clothing and accessories collection created exclusively for PADI Professionals. The collaboration recognises the role of dive instructors and divemasters in introducing people to the underwater world and supporting the next generation of divers.
Unveiled during DEMA Show 2026, the collection combines Fourth Element’s technical diving apparel experience with PADI’s professional identity, bringing together clothing designed for use in dive centres, classrooms, on boats and in everyday life.
The BLACKCARD collection became available for pre-order on 3 November 2026, with eligibility restricted to PADI Professionals.
Recognising the People Behind Every Diver
The collaboration is built around the contribution made by diving professionals, particularly the instructors and divemasters who help new divers develop the confidence and skills needed to explore the underwater environment.
Fourth Element Chief Operating Officer Jim Standing believes these personal relationships remain fundamental to the diving industry.
“No algorithm ever made someone fall in love with diving; PADI Professionals do that,” he said.
Standing explained that dive professionals often provide the first meaningful connection between an individual and the underwater world, helping transform an introductory diving experience into a lasting interest in exploration and conservation.
Kristin Valette Wirth, Chief Brand and Membership Officer for PADI Worldwide, described PADI Professionals as the backbone of the diving industry.
She said the BLACKCARD collection was created to recognise their responsibility, achievements and professional pride, rather than simply producing another range of branded clothing.
What Is Included in the BLACKCARD Collection?
The range has been developed to reflect the varied working environments of dive professionals, from shore-based training and classroom instruction to boat operations and time spent in the water.
The collection includes long-sleeved Hydro-T rashguards, loose-fitting hooded Hydro-T tops, T-shirts, polo shirts, quarter-zip garments, windbreakers and ponchos.
Accessories include baseball caps, bucket hats, beanies, mask straps and reusable drinkware.
Rather than focusing entirely on casual clothing, the range brings together technical apparel, practical outerwear and everyday accessories.
The official Fourth Element × PADI Pro store includes BLACKCARD designs alongside the wider PADI Pro collection, with clothing and accessories offered in a range of styles.
An Emphasis on Materials and Environmental Responsibility
Fourth Element says the collection has been developed in accordance with its OceanPositive approach, incorporating recycled, organic or natural materials where appropriate.
The manufacturer has also highlighted the use of packaging without single-use plastics.
These commitments form part of Fourth Element’s wider approach to equipment and apparel development, although the materials used vary between individual products.
The collaboration reflects a growing emphasis among diving manufacturers on combining practical equipment design with environmental considerations.
A Collection Linked to Professional Achievement
An important distinction is that BLACKCARD is not a diving qualification or an additional professional certification.
Instead, the collection is intended to represent the existing achievements and responsibilities of qualified PADI Professionals.
PADI describes three central qualities associated with that professional identity: capability, responsibility and commitment.
The organisation says the clothing is designed to reflect the journey from recreational diver to professional, including the training, experience and leadership required to guide and educate others.
The launch campaign features working PADI Professionals and the experiences that connect them with the diving community.
BLACKCARD Availability and Pre-Orders
The Fourth Element × PADI Pro BLACKCARD collection opened for pre-orders on 3 November 2026, coinciding with DEMA Show.
The range is available exclusively to eligible PADI Professionals through the dedicated online store.
Prospective buyers can view the products, individual specifications and ordering requirements at padi.fourthelement.com.
The collaboration brings two established diving organisations together around an industry audience whose contribution is essential to diver training, professional standards and the continued development of recreational scuba diving.
