Nova Scotia’s diving community is preparing to join an international celebration of underwater adventure when Diversnight 2026 takes place on Saturday, November 7.
Organised locally by East Coast Scuba & Watersports, the evening will bring divers together for a group night dive, celebrating a tradition that began in Norway in 2005 and has since spread to diving communities around the world.
Participants are invited to gather at Fox Point Beach at 7:00 p.m., with Mill Cove in Bedford designated as an alternative location if weather conditions require a change.
Divers are encouraged to bring multiple dive lights, while glow sticks are welcome to add to the atmosphere.
The gathering is not limited to scuba divers. Snorkelers, paddlers and spectators are all invited to join the celebration, supporting the local diving community from above or below the water.
Those interested in carpooling can meet at the East Coast Scuba & Watersports dive shop beforehand to coordinate transportation.
And in keeping with Diversnight tradition, the evening will include cupcakes following the underwater celebrations.
The international event takes place annually on the first Saturday in November, bringing diving enthusiasts together through their shared passion for exploring the underwater world.
