Ahmed Gabr Sets New Deep Diving World Record – 332.4m

Congratulations to Ahmed Gabr who set the new world record for deep open circuit diving in Dahab on 18th September 2014 by hitting 332.4m. Ahmed topped the previous record set by Nuno Gomez in 2005 of 318.25m.

Personally, I have very mixed opinions about this kind of “Record Breaking” diving due to the massive element of risk involved, not only for the diver but for the whole of the support team. Congratulations are certainly in order however and it’s great to hear that the attempt was completed without incident.
