According to the official NDAC (National Diving and Activity Centre) Blog, the centre in Chepstow, UK will be returning to 4 day per week opening from Sunday 28th April 2013. The centre and the View Cafe Bar will be open as normal on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Wooden Wigwams will still be open 7 days per week. Onthebeach.co.uk – A friend of mine has recently had dealings with this company and while learning more about them I came across this website which clearly shows that he is not alone in being more than disappointed with the extremely unethical marketing practices used by On the Beach. As divers we know the importance of search and rescue helicopters and coastguard services. Whilst we hope to never use them, we do feel some reassurance that they exist. That should we have a problem, there are safety elements in place to help. It is with this in mind that I ask you all to sign the petition to help save the Portland Coastguard Helicopter which as been scheduled for closure in 2018, against lots of expert advice and without consultation with the local community. It is being reported that a diver was flown to hospital over the weekend following an incident at Newry Beach, Holyhead. The individual was pulled from the water off the Anglesey coast at around 2pm on Saturday. The alarm was raised and first aid was administered until the air ambulance arrived and transported the victim to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. Following mouth-to-mouth resuscitation the man was breathing and fully conscious when he was transferred, according to the North Wales Ambulance Service. Over the past 2 days, our members successfully identified Golden Dolphin III as the boat that allowed its guests to illegally capture a turtle and shark from the Red Sea waters. Our investigation concluded that the incident took place 3 years ago and it was only in recent days that the guest decided to post the photos to their profile. Thanks to your concerns and efforts in exposing this illegal activity; the boat has been identified, the management team has issued an apology, and the national park authority passed the maximum penalty on them. Tekstreme Diving, the technical diving arm of Emperor Divers have been rewarded by PADI for all of their efforts in 2012 by becoming the leading PADI TecRec centre in Egypt. Tekstreme Manager, Cat Braun was at the German Boot Show to receive the award presented by Reto Moser the Regional Manager for Egypt.
