West Street Boat Launch and Shore Dive
The Kingston Pump House Museum is right next to the boat launch on West St.
This location is sometimes associated with the marine museum, but because there is so much space between the two, it has been divided into multiple dives. This dive site is typically entered and exited by divers using the actual boat launch. Although used by boats for launching, this is the most convenient way to get in and out of the water as long as you use caution.
There are a couple of old vehicles at this location that have gone through the winter ice while attempting to cross the ice to Wolfe Island.
There’s also a small racing yacht and a section of an old barge to swim around on. The area is also popular with tourists. There is an Ahoy Rentals nearby for paddle boats, kayaks, and other water sports equipment, as well as the actual boat launch, so extreme caution should be exercised at all times while using this site.
It’s a great and fun dive with lots of neat things to see, and the entire circuit could take 45 minutes to complete.
