Scuba Tours Worldwide ran a ‘Name the Manta’ competition at the Dive Show – the winner was Jane Gibson who named this beautiful female manta Shadow. “We thought this was a very appropriate name … divers who have been to the Maldives with us and experienced manta encounters, will know that they can appear like big shadows overhead – especially on cleaning stations where we see them so regularly” said Carol Basham. Jane wins a bottle of Champagne and a £250 holiday voucher!
Shadow is now recorded in the extensive database that Scuba Tours Worldwide dive guide, Anne-Marie, has built up over the years whilst studying for a PhD in Manta Behaviour and Ecology in the Maldives.
