Diver Flown To Boston Hospital Following Incident in Marblehead

It is being reported that Boston Medflight transported a diver to Massachusetts General Hospital after a boat brought the man to Marblehead’s shore Saturday afternoon.

Marblehead Fire Chief Jason Gilliland said the man did not have physical injuries, as in broken bones or cuts, but appeared to have been suffering from decompression sickness, although this was too early to tell.

Gilliland said the man was conscious and talking with first responders before being flown to Boston

According to a police statement, a call came in at about 12:15 p.m., that a boat was bringing a diver to shore who had been injured about six miles south of Marblehead.
